Barn in a North Devon valley. Luxury stay with indoor pool, play area, and animals. Old Barn: 10 guests, 5-star gold, library & snug, 2 x super king-size bedrooms with en-suites, 1 king with ensuite, twin room, family bathroom, private terrace, private hot tub and amenities.
The Old Barn epitomizes sophistication and charm, a lovingly transformed original barn from the Farm. With five beautifully appointed bedrooms, The Old Barn comfortably accommodates ten to eleven guests, creating a haven for families and friends seeking an exceptional retreat. The pièce de résistance of The Old Barn is its expansive new deck area, featuring a luxurious hot tub, inviting garden furnishings, plush sun loungers, and a delightful outdoor dining area. Here, you'll be captivated by the enchanting panoramic views stretching across the verdant valley. It's a sanctuary of relaxation and indulgence, whether you picture sipping morning coffee on the comfortable sofa as the sun bathes the sky in golden hues or sharing laughter and stories during al fresco dinners imbued with the essence of the surrounding countryside. And as the day gracefully fades, there's no better place to bid adieu to the sun than from the soothing embrace of the hot tub, where the sky transforms into a breath-taking masterpiece. Upon entering, you'll be welcomed by the grandeur of triple-height vaulted wooden ceilings reaching skyward and the tactile allure of exposed stone walls that murmur tales of history. The Old Barn transcends being a mere holiday cottage; it seamlessly merges with the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that envelops it, paying homage to the splendour of its surroundings. A culinary haven awaits in the spacious, well-appointed kitchen, complete with a four-door electric Aga and an espresso/cappuccino coffee maker, promising gastronomic delights. Gather around the generous table, where laughter and conversations flow freely. The heart of the home invites relaxation in the splendid triple-height drawing room, with a gallery above offering a captivating view of the valley. An intimate snug tucked within the gallery beckons, inviting you to immerse yourself in comfort amidst rustic exposed beams and stone walls, while an extensive library awaits those seeking respite from the everyday hustle and bustle. Each of the bedrooms tells its own story of comfort and opulence. The ground floor hosts a sun-drenched haven with a super king-size bed and an ensuite shower room, complemented by a sunroom that opens onto a private terrace and enclosed lawn. Ascend to the upper chambers—a bedroom with a super king/twin zip and link bed, connected to a family bathroom, and a balcony revealing the valley's enchantment. Nestled within the barn's embrace, a cosy twin bedroom offers a cocoon of tranquillity. At the far end of this sanctuary, the Family Suite beckons. A master bedroom of grand proportions, with an ensuite shower room and double sink, opens onto the deck, granting you a front-row seat to nature's spectacle. Ascend once more to discover a versatile twin bedroom/playroom, a secret hideaway accessed through the main bedroom, offering a realm of playfulness and rest. Throughout The Old Barn, discreet wooden built-in stair gates provide peace of mind for families with toddlers, ensuring safety without compromising the seamless aesthetic. We ask guests for a security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit card of £500.00. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. + MoreThe property enjoys an ideal location in the picturesque Devonshire countryside, offering breath-taking views over a privately owned valley within Exmoor's Heritage Coast. While it might be difficult to depart from the estates charm, there's a wealth of nearby attractions and act...ivities to explore. Our luxurious cottages offer convenient access to the dramatic North Devon coastline, which includes the highest cliffs in England and reputedly the nation's finest beach. Additionally, the region's renowned landmarks and stunning natural landscapes are all within easy reach.
Discover nearby pubs, like the renowned The Pyne Arms, where you can savor moules marinieres or a charcuterie platter. Alternatively, head to The Pack O’ Cards for a classic carvery experience. Treat yourself to the exceptional culinary offerings at Kentisbury Grange, where locally inspired seasonal dishes await. Or, for a delightful snack, relish clotted-cream scones from The Galleon Café or enjoy fresh fish and chips from The Black and Whites.
Apart from all of the glorious beaches, there are also family friendly things to do, including a visit to Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, Watermouth castle, horse riding, coasteering, surfing, sea safari's and so much more!
Just a mile away, the closest beach to us is the tranquil Combe Martin bay, ideal for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and it's a favourite spot for seals and dolphins, providing a memorable water sports experience. During high tide, the beach features pebbly sand, but as the tide recedes, it unveils a sandy shoreline and some of the finest rock pools along the entire coast! You can rent boards and kayaks in the village from Surf Side, a business consistently recognized with a certificate of excellence by TripAdvisor. They also organize guided kayaking tours for your enjoyment. With a number of beaches in between, we are conveniently situated just a short twenty-minute drive from what has been acclaimed as the "Best Beach in Britain." Not only did Woolacombe Beach secure the 13th spot on the global list, surpassing renowned coastlines in Turkey, Florida, and Costa Rica, but it also ranked fourth in Europe and claimed the number one position in the UK! A recent review perfectly captured the essence of Woolacombe, describing it as "Three miles of heaven.
