Norton is a charming cottage set withing the pristine grounds of the West Hollowcombe Farm Estate. It has a large open plan living space on the first floor with log burner and comfortable seating; a perfect spot to enjoy the views! The bedrooms are on the ground level. Sleeps up to 4 guests in two bedrooms One king-size bedroom One bedroom can be made up as twin beds, or as super-king bed on request Both bedrooms have en-suites, plus a further ground floor cloakroom Open-plan living area on the first floor Cot, high chair and stair gate available on request Dog/s welcome (maximum of 2) for £20 supplement each Patio and shared garden BBQ Children's play area on the farm Exmoor National Park on the doorstep - great location for exploring the moor Wifi, £20 heating and electricity included (ample for a week long stay) Bed linen and towels provided Arrive from 4 pm Depart by 10 am The entrance door opens from the patio area straight into the ground-level spacious hallway, providing access to both bedrooms - one to the left and one to the right. One bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the other has zip-link beds which can be made up as twin beds or a super-king bed, as preferred. One en-suite bathroom has a bath, separate shower, toilet and hand basin; and the other en-suite has bath, toilet and hand basin. There is also a ground floor cloakroom. The wooden stairs lead to the first floor into the open-plan living area, complete with with wood-burner, dining table and chairs, comfortable seating, and kitchen area.

The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. The open-plan living area comprises a table with four chairs, wood-burner, and a smart TV and comfortable seating. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. £20 of electricity and heating costs are included in the price of the accommodation which is more than enough for a week long stay. Jasper Cottage benefits from electric heaters throughout. A basket of logs, some kindling and matches will be provided for the wood-burner in the cooler months. There is access to communal washing machine and dryer, which is located in an external laundry room, shared with the other 3 holiday cottages. High chair, travel cot, and stair gates available on request.

Norton Cottage has a patio area directly beside the property with picnic bench (not enclosed) and BBQ. This overlooks a beautiful shared garden overlooking the dramatic moorland beyond. A children's play area complete with climbing frame, wendy house and picnic table is available for guests to use within the grounds. The farm has more than 50 acres to explore; ancient woodland, a private river and rolling countryside to boot! West Hollowcombe Farm sits within Exmoor National Park.

Horses: There is a block of 4 stables available to rent on a DIY basis. A 2.5 acre well-fenced paddock is available for turnout. Water buckets and stable cleaning equipment are provided for your use. Horses are charged at £40 per horse, per stay.

The region
+ MoreHawkridge sits amongst the hills on the southern side of Exmoor National Park, near the border between Somerset and North Devon, looking out over Anstey Common and Molland Moor. It is a short hop, skip & a jump to the famous Tarr Steps - a beautiful location for a day out (with a... half decent pub nearby)! Dulverton is approx 5 miles (15 minutes drive). It is a beautiful town on the banks of the River Barle, known as the southern gateway to Exmoor and it is also home to the head quarters of the Exmoor National Park. Dulverton is well equipped with shops including Post Office, butchers, bakery, fish & chip shop, greengrocer, late-opening supermarket, art gallery, hairdressers, guns and fishing tackle shop. There are also a number of quality boutiques, interesting gift shops plus a handful of lovely restaurants, tea rooms and pubs. Withypool is also approx 5 miles, where you'll find a village shop, tea rooms and pub serving evening meals. South Molton is around 12 miles away and is an interesting and lively country town, with a good selection of shops and pubs. Thursdays and Saturdays are market day with a local market in the historic Pannier Market hall, as well as a busy livestock market. Exmoor provides a great base for walking, cycling, horse riding and exploring. It is also the place for anyone who just wants to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beautful English countryside. Hawkridge is within easy reach of Tarr Steps, The Chains - a wonderful place for the experienced walker, the Tarka Trail, the North Devon coastal path, Woody Bay and the Valley of the Rocks as well as Lynton and Lynmouth. The beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woollacombe are less than an hour away. There are a number of local National Trust properties nearby including Knightshayes, Dunster Castle and Arlington Court.
