Monks Cleeve Bungalow is a detached property on the outskirts of the village of Exford, the owners live in the detached guest house next door, and there is a stable yard also on the premises. Patio doors open into to the living area, which has a well equipped open plan kitchen and dining area. Off the living room is bedroom with king-size bed (or twin) and the separate bathroom comprises a bath and shower over, toilet and hand basin. Well behaved dogs welcome (maximum of 2) for £25. There is a paddock where you may exercise your dogs if you wish, or many paths from the village to explore the wonderful Exmoor countryside. Secure bicycle storage available.

The kitchen is comprehensively equipped with a Stanley cooker, electric hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle, and washing machine, plus kitchen utensils, cookware, crockery and glassware. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided. The living area has two comfortable sofas and a smart television. Wireless internet is available and a hair dryer is also provided. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The property is heated by oil-fired central heating throughout. Heating will be programmed for you but can be adjusted to suit your preferences if required. Bed linen, duvet, pillows, and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Assorted board games and playing cards are provided. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a supplement of £25 please do not allow your dogs on the furniture. Secure storage for bicycles available

A small patio table and two chairs are located just outside the patio doors in the enclosed garden area, which has a paved area as well as lawn, and is available solely for guests' use. The property is detached and set across the drive from the owners home and guest house. There is also a stabling across the yard from the bungalow. Within walking distance to the village there are two pubs both serving food, the village shop, tea rooms and village green (dog-free area) which is large with a children's play area on the far side. It's a short walk down to the village, less than 5 mins on foot.

The region
+ MoreExford has two pubs that both serve lunch and evening meals, as well as a tea shop and a village shop that stocks essentials, and contains a Post Office counter where you can get cash too. The village green is a dog-free public space in the centre of the village. Exford is sit...uated pretty much in the centre of Exmoor National Park, offering great access to all that Exmoor has to offer. It is a small rural village based around a traditional village green. Exford and the surrounding area is famous for its beautiful and unspoiled countryside making it ideal for hiking, biking, riding and fishing. Just 10 minutes from Exford is Alderman's Barrow, just one example of the opportunity explore an incredible Bronze age Landscape, with it’s mysterious stone settings, barrow and hut circle. A footpath runs from Alderman's Barrow to Larkbarrow which is the ruins of an isolated farm that was used for firing practice during World War II. This area is described by Exmoor National Park as being surrounded by miles of open, rolling grass moorland, and one of the best places to experience remoteness and tranquillity on Exmoor.
White Horse and The Crown Hotel, both within walking distance in Exford. Exmoor Forest Hotel in Simonsbath is the recommended eatery and is a 10 minute drive. Royal Oak at Withypool is a 5 minute drive there is also a lovely tea room next to the river and an excellent village shop.
There are Tarka Trail cycle routes across Exmoor. Dunster Castle, Porlock Weir, Wild Deer Safaries can be booked in Exford Village. Dulverton is an historic town with lovely shops and resturants.
Walking all over Exmoor with footpaths from the door. Please ask owner for best ideas and opportunities to spot the wild Red Deer Lynton and Lynmouth is a renowned beauty spot with spectacular scenery and famous cliff railway. The Valley of the Rocks has wonderful walking and dramatic views across the Bristol Channel.
