The Old Inn in Luckwell Bridge, near Wheddon Cross is a charming and characterful cottage, suitable for up to 5 guests (two double bedrooms and one single) and is pet-friendly. Situated just over a mile from the village of Wheddon Cross, The Old Inn is a great location for exploring Exmoor.
The Old Inn is a period cottage dating back to 1763, it was once a small local inn and is situated alongside the road between Wheddon Cross and Exford. Today the cottage retains many original features such as wooden beams, a large inglenook fireplace and heavy studded front door. The Old Inn sleeps up to 5 guests and briefly comprises: The front door opens into a porch area, ideal for boots and coats, and then into small downstairs hall, with the kitchen to the left and sitting room to the right. The kitchen is equipped a range cooker with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dining table with seating for 4 and a window seat. A range of cookware, crockery and glasses is provided. Sitting room has a large inglenook fireplace with wood-burner. The TV has Freeview, there is also DVD player, WiFi, plus a selection of books, games and DVDs. Upstairs to the first floor: Three bedrooms; one king-size double bed (5'); one standard double bed (4'6") and one single bedroom Family bathroom with shower over the bath, toilet and hand basin. Oil-fired central heating and electricity is included in the price of the accommodation, the heating can be adjusted to suit your preferences. An initial supply of logs are provided for the wood-burner to get you started. Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Up to 2 well behaved dog/s are welcome. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or leave them alone in the property at any time.

There is a small courtyard area beside the cottage. A private garden area is located on the opposite side of the road, this area is bordered by a shallow river and a picnic bench is provided. This area is for guests sole use. A lane runs beside the property, which turns into a bridle path after a short distance, and leads up towards Dunkery. Another bridle path on the opposite side of the road leads up to Wheddon Cross. Well-behaved dogs are welcome (maximum of 2). Please ensure you pick up after your dog in the garden area. Bicycle storage is available in the outdoor sheds.

Exmoor is a country-lovers delight, with numerous options for walking, riding, fishing and cycling all within easy r...each from the property. The Old Inn is just over one mile from Wheddon Cross - the highest village on Exmoor. Here you will find a well-stocked mini-supermarket, Post Office facilities and petrol station with good opening times. The Rest & Be Thankful Inn is the village pub in Wheddon Cross which serves food and is child and dog friendly. Exford is approx 2 miles (in the other direction), there is a village shop and Post Office and two pubs which also serve food. Minehead is the main town in West Somerset, approximately 10 miles from The Old Inn, and here you will find larger supermarkets (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have long opening hours and petrol stations), there are also some high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops, restaurants and cafes and throughout the town. Within Exmoor National Park, the popular attractions of Dunster Castle, Porlock Weir, Dulverton, Lynton and Lynmouth are all nearby for day trips.
