Many of the moorland villages offer refreshment to help you along the way and most are dog friendly. Near to the cottage Winsford and Withypool both offer lovely walks and refreshment. The coast is just half an hour away with beaches at Blue Anchor, Dunster, Porlock Weir and Minehead. Further west the coastline is particularly rugged and beautiful, giving way to the large sandy bays at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton which are popular for surfing.
