Pebble Cottage is a fabulous holiday property, offering comfortable, cosy and contemporary accommodation for up to 4 guests and 1 dog. Pebble Cottage is in a quiet location in the beautiful and historic mediaeval village of Dunster.
Pebble Cottage is a beautifully renovated traditional cottage full of character which has been extended and updated to include a modern kitchen and an open-living layout. The gorgeous cottage garden is south facing, providing a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the sun all day long. The cottage is tucked away off West Street away from the main thoroughfare of Dunster, yet within easy walking distance to the boutique shops, pubs and excellent restaurants in the village. Pebble Cottage sleeps up to 4 guests in two bedrooms One king-sized bedroom One twin bedroom, which can also be made up to a super-king bedroom on request The kitchen is light and bright with a breakfast bar and tri-fold doors into the garden There is a well stocked kitchen including sharp knives, Nespresso coffee machine and everything you need for a picnic at the beach! Open-plan dining-sitting room and kitchen. with log burner in the sitting room Modern first floor shower room, plus downstairs toilet with basin Private enclosed south facing cottage garden to the rear of the property with a table and chairs, with the occasional distant sound of the West Somerset steam train as it passes through Dunster station Bath sheets and bed linen provided along with dog towels. Please bring your own beach towels Wifi, electricity, heating and a basket of logs is included There is tea, milk and sugar along with a Nespresso coffee machine with pods for when you first arrive. The cottage has dishwasher tablets, laundry tablets, fire lighters and of course some treats for your four legged friend. The owner may allow 2 small dogs on a case-by-case basis, please get in touch to let us know the size/breed of the dog and we'll be happy to check for you. The property will be ready from 3.30 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Entrance through the front door into the hall with space for coats and boots, then straight into the open-plan dining, sitting room and kitchen. There's a wood only log burner with a basket of logs for a cosy evening in. A Smart TV and Blue-ray DVD player with a selection of films for grown ups and children, along with a variety of board games for rainy days or evenings in. Through to the modern kitchen area, which includes a Bosch electric oven and hob, integrated fridge freezer, integrated washing machine, integrated slim-line dishwasher, plus microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen is well stocked with a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. Including sharp knives and everything you might need for a picnic at the beach! The cottage has a Roberts DAB +FM Bluetooth Digital portable radio. Large tri-folding doors open across the rear wall into the garden, allowing outside to be an extension of inside. There is also a downstairs loo and washbasin on the ground floor. On the first floor are the two bedrooms, one with king-sized bed and one with twin beds, which can be made into a super-king bed on request (please requested at time of booking, or at least 3 days prior to your arrival date). The spacious shower room comprises a walk-in shower cubicle with a drench shower overhead and a hand shower both with excellent pressure, toilet, hand basin and heated towel rail. A starter basket of logs will be provided for the wood-burner in the cooler months, further supplies of logs can be bought locally. Electricity, heating and wifi are included in the price of your accommodation. Pebble Cottage benefits from Combi gas central heating throughout, which can be adjusted to suit your preferences and provides you with instant hot water and responsive heating. There is further information in the guest handbook, if there should be any problems with appliances during your stay please either contact housekeeping or Nikki who will gladly address any concerns. Due to Dunster sitting on the edge of Exmoor the phone reception in the village is patchy. Truly adding to the sense of getting away from it all! Thankfully our wifi is great, meaning you can re-connect. Bed linen includes summer and winter duvets to suit the season and bath sheets are provided for your convenience. Please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk sachets, biscuits and crisps will be provided, as will salt and pepper. Two tea towels are provided as well as cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablet and liquid soap along with toilet rolls for each toilet. One well-behaved dog is welcome for a supplementary fee of £25. Two small dogs (say beagle-sized or smaller) may be permitted on request, please get in touch to let us know the size/breed of your dogs and we will happily check this with the owner for you (note, the supplement will be payable per dog if 2 are accepted). Please do not allow your dog on the furniture or leave them alone in the property at any time.

The rear garden is a private and tranquil space accessed via the kitchen tri-folding doors. It is a beautiful cottage garden fully enclosed and south-facing garden, with a small area directly outside the property, perfect for catching the morning sun with a cup of coffee with four steps leading to a further cobbled area, all beautifully laid with pebbles and surrounded by flowerbeds. A table and chairs and cushions are provided, along with a charcoal BBQ for eating and relaxing outside, enjoying a meal or glass of wine in the evening. There are numerous walks immediately from the door, stroll down the road outside the cottage to Gallox Bridge and beyond into Dunster deer park and the Crown Estate. Explore Bats Castle, an Iron Age hill fort or explore Dunster Castle (National Trust) and their beautiful grounds. In the opposite direction there are footpaths which lead up onto Grabbist Hill or to Conygar Tower. Exmoor National Park Centre in Dunster can provide you with lots of walks, maps, activities bespoke to you and your exploration of Exmoor. This is a magical part of Exmoor to walk in, cycle through, the Quantock Hills are close by and a stunning coast-line to enjoy awaits you! Dunster has its own beach, complete with beach huts and is approx 1.5 mile walk from the village. The beach is dog friendly 365 days a year. West Somerset Steam Railway runs from Minehead through Dunster, stopping at Blue Anchor beach, Washford and on to Bishops Lydeard and is a nostalgic, thoroughly enjoyable day out one that pleases all ages!

In the event of fire please exit through the front door and into Park Street, moving towards an area of safety at the top of Park Street by The Foresters Inn. There is a working telephone box opposite The Foresters Inn. A general purpose fire extinguisher is located to the left of the dresser in the kitchen and a fire blanket is attached to the wall to the right of the cooker and oven. The region
+ MoreDunster is brimming with history and is considered one of Englands best preserved Medieval villages. The High Street is iconic with the Dunster Castle (National Trust) sitting proudly at one end, and the Yarn Market at the other. There's also the Tithe Barn to explore, the Dovec...ote, Butter Cross and the 15th century church. Dunster is a bustling village with several excellent restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. There is a variety of independent boutique shops and galleries. Many of the shops in Dunster are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often vary during the summer season and winter months. The charming Edwardian sea-side town of Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 1.5 miles from Dunster. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations, Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have long opening hours, Tesco have a pharmacy. There is also a Lidl. You can find high street banks with cash machines, plus a great range of independent and high street shops available in the town, along with everything you would want in a sea-side town.

Luttrell Arms Dunster High Street - Fabulous old building and gorgeous garden, food is really good, recommend booking at table especially at the weekend. Reeves Dunster High Street - Outstanding food and personal service absolutely have to book for the weekend. Royal Oak Luxborough - delicious food, lovely open fires Ship Inn Porlock Weir - great pub and beer festival every July Porlock Bay Oyster - fresh oyster take-away or eat straight away! Cottage beer project local nano brewery minimum order will deliver. Excellent traditional beers. Little Oak Farm - produce great bacon and pork, will deliver to Dunster every Thursday. Dunster Deli offer a selection of fabulous pies, wines, beers and ciders. Hathaways Italian small family owned restaurant again recommended to book.
There is so much to see, explore, enjoy and experience in Exmoor and West Somerset, here is just a selection! Dunster Castle - Has been here since Norman times, it was renovated for the Luttrell family in the 19th Century, who continued to live there for 600 years. It is now managed by the National Trust and is open from March to October Dunster beach - There is a walk from the village down to the beach which is approx 1.5miles, crossing the West Somerset steam railway line. The beach is dog friendly 365 day of the year and has some splendid beach huts West Somerset Steam Railway - Dunster station is 1 mile from the village. The railway is the longest standard gauge heritage railway in the UK and runs between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard, stopping at Blue Anchor beach and Watchet and many other stations Coleridge Cottage and Nether Stowey - Home to the 17th Century poet now run by the National Trust. Nether Stowey is the start of the Coleridge way, a 51 mile walk through the stunning Quantock hills, Brendon hills and Exmoor Watersmeet - A dramatic river gorge with ancient woodlands. It is run by the National Trust, so there is a tearoom, shop Lynton and Lynmouth - Beautiful fishing villages with stunning coastline Arlington Court - Another National Trust gem. A regency house once part of the Chichester family estate for over 500 years. The house has displays of everything from model ships to shells, there is also a carriage museum worth a visit Watchet Boat Museum - a small museum established in a former railway goods shed Golf - Minehead has an 18 hole golf course as does Illfracombe, both of whom welcome visitors Things to do on those occasional rainy day Dunster Castle - an ancient castle and comfortable family home with amazing views Minehead EYE - Activities for kids of all ages, even those that haven’t grown up! In Dunster there is the Exmoor National Park Visitors Centre, staffed by great people who will help you plan out the walks and areas you would like to walk in, cycle through and explore. Here are just a few places you might like to check out........ Exmoor National Park - one of the UK’s 15 national parks. It is famous for its international dark sky reserve, wild deer and ponies and rugged heather moorland. There is also a stunning coastline to explore. There are OS maps in the cottage and a selection of leaflets for safaris, walks and activities that can be enjoyed in this stunning area. Dunster beach - only 1.5mile walk from the village, dog friendly 365 days of the year. It is a wide sand and pebble beach with views along to Blue Anchor beach and across the Bristol channel. Backed by beach huts that complete the British beach vibe. Kilve beach - is halfway between Minehead and Bridgwater, in the heart of the Quantocks. Rock pools and fossils, perfect low tide activity. Quantock Hills - Were England’s first area of outstanding natural beauty. There are many ways to explore this stunning area, a good starting point is the village of Holford. Woolacombe Beach - Stunning 3 mile stretch of sandy beach, occasionally you will see basking seals in the sun! Porlock Weir is a beautiful harbour, one of the most magical and traditional places within Exmoor.
