Malmsmead sits on the Somerset-Devon border deep in the valley below County Gate in the parish of Oare. The 17th century packhorse bridge spans Badgworthy Water and is the focal point of the hamlet. This area is excellent for walking; you can chose to stay within the shelter of the wooded valleys and explore the remains of medieval villages or enjoy delicious pub food and cream teas. Or you may wish to venture onto the open moors to experience the wilds of Exmoor at its best.
