Dunns Cottage is full of character and the perfect destination for families - or couples requiring more spacious accommodation. Situated in the small hamlet of West Porlock between Porlock Weir and the village of Porlock, Dunns Cottage enjoys outstanding views across open fields towards the sea.

Details

Entrance to Dunns Cottage is via a small porch which leads into the kitchen. The kitchen has all modern facilities with a utility at the far end (with toilet and shower). The spacious sitting room enjoys views towards the coast and is complemented by an adjacent dining room where a telescope is situated to help you see the wonderful array of birds and wildlife on the marshlands of Porlock Bay. Upstairs are two large king-sized double bedrooms and a smaller bedroom containing a small double bed. The upstairs bathroom is comprised of a bath, shower and toilet, plus a separate second upstairs toilet with hand basin. Sleeps up to 6 (two king-size beds and one small double bed) Sitting room with adjoining dining room Stunning view of Porlock Bay from the comfy chairs in the sitting room! Utility room with downstairs toilet and shower Upstairs family bathroom with bath and shower Outside seating area Private garden Off-road parking for one car Wifi, electricity and heating included Towels and linen provided Dogs welcome (3 max) for £15 supplement per dog Walking distance from Porlock Weir Grocery shops only 1 mile Arrive from 4 pm Depart by 10 am Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 3). A supplementary fee of £15 will be added to your invoice per dog. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or upstairs and do not leave them alone in the property at any time. The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests. Dunns Cottage is available for week breaks (Friday to Friday) during peak periods. Short breaks are available at other times. Dunns Cottage is strictly non-smoking.

Dunns Cottage is fitted with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and electric cooker with ceramic hob. Other equipment includes cookware, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. An iron and ironing board is kept in the property for your convenience, and a hairdryer is provided in each bedroom. The television (with Sky) in the sitting room. There is also a CD player and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Dunns Cottage benefits from central heating throughout the property, plus a wood-burner in the living room; kindling, matches and one basket of logs will be provided in the cooler months. Additional logs can be purchased from the hardware shop in Porlock. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided. A travel cot can be provided Dunns Cottage, please note that bedding is not provided for the cot, please bring your own. There is no high chair available, sorry.

Question: Does the broadband have a modem in the property to plug a PlayStation games console into,this is to access Netflix and Amazon etc, plus games,for wet days,as just had a bad experience in a cottage in Yorkshire, very bad weather, poor Wi-Fi and not able to connect ,as the modem was in another property, it was extremly boring,stuck inside because of very bad weather, I deliberately booked this cottage as it says it has all this,just want to double check,so our holiday is not spoiled for next year,as this year has been.

Answer-1: Thanks for your message, I'm pleased to confirm that the wifi for Dunns Cottage is provided by a Sky hub which is located in the sitting room. I also believe the TV is a quite a new one, so I don't think you would have any issues with plugging in any accessories brought from home. (We do ask though, that if you make changes to the set up, technology-wise, to please make sure everything is returned to the original format upon your departure

Question: Is there a handrail on the staircase going upstairs and is it straight on on a bend?

Answer-1: There is a door at the bottom of the stairs, two steps through the doorway (no hand rail) then a plateau and a right turn to the main staircase which is straight from there, with handrail. Please note there are also steps up to the garden, mostly with a rail.

Question: Are there walks from the cottage suitable for walking dogs?

Answer-1: Yes. Come out of the house. Turn right and there is a footpath on the Right about 50yards. This goes to Porlock or Porlock Weir or up the top of Porlock hill. There is of course the coastal path as well. Hope that helps.

Question: We would like to bring two dogs. While they would be with us most of the time, would it be possible to leave them in the cottage for short periods? One is old and would need rest from walking. The other is middle age and would benifit from staying behnd for sHort trips to the shops. Both are very well behaved and would just sit by the door until our return

Question: Hi, is the garden enclosed for our dog and can we park two cars outside

Answer-1: Yes the garden is enclosed in this property. At Dunns Cottage there is off-road parking is available directly outside the property on the driveway; there is space for one large car, or two small cars. If you need to park extra cars you can park on the lane about 100m down the road.
